Eurovision 2010 Winner: Satellite by Lena Meyer-Landrut
Lena is 19 and was born May 23rd, 1991 in Hanover Germany. Although she has had some dance lessons, she has not had any formal acting or vocal training. Despite this, her stage presence and charisma, and performance style called a "mix of loveliness, professionalism and craziness" made her an early favorite in the Eurovision 2010 contest.
"Satellite" sold over 100,000 downloads in its first week, making it Germany's quickest selling digital song ever. The video, on the eurovision channel, came out in March and has over 16 Million views! I had not heard the song or seen the video until I saw a cover version of it made by Tyler Ward featuring Julia Sheer on lead vocals. Don't miss the killer guitar break by Lance! This version rocks! Both videos are below.
But first, The News!
Thanks to everyone who entered OUR CONTEST to win a copy of Mike Lombard's latest release, "Songs For A New Day"! So far we have 18 comments on our interview with Mike, and each commenter is entered in the contest. The contest runs until Midnight Eastern time on June 20th so there's still time to read the interview and comment to enter the Contest!
Okay, now here is the original version of Satellite by Lena, and the cover by Julia, Tyler and crew; enjoy!
